Massage Therapy

Shorten recovery times between workouts.

Exercise can damage muscular tissue. Massage therapy shortens the recovery time between workouts. It increases blood flow to the muscle tissue, and gets rid of metabolic waste and scar tissue. In turn it improves your performance, increases joint mobility and flexibility in muscles and connective tissue.

The techniques applied depend on the individual and how they respond to treatment.

Deep tissue techniques focus on the deeper layers of muscles. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes, very firm pressure, stretching and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibers of the muscles, tendons and fascia. It restores a full range of motion. It may cause some soreness during or right after the massage.  Sometimes soreness may appear the next day. However, when it passes, you should feel better than ever.

Swedish Massage

This traditional massage incorporates regular pressure to release knots, tension, to ease muscle pain and to relax. It increases the oxygen flow in the blood and releases toxins from the muscles. Swedish massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a form of light massage with circular pumping movements that encourage lymph flow in the body. The lymphatic system is located directly beneath the skin, so the pumping, circular movements are very light. In the first place the therapist massages near nodes to stimulate them to work and then along lymph vessels in the direction of the lymph flow. The lymph system both delivers nutrients to the cells and carries away excess water, cellular waste, bacteria, viruses and toxins. It provides immunity against disease. This type of massage is particularly good for detoxification, edema and also helpsreduce cellulite.

Hot Stone Massage

It involves the application of heated basalt stonesto key points on the body, giving massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth. The direct heat relaxes muscles, allowing manipulation of a greater intensity than with regular massage. In cases of muscular injury and inflammation frozen, cooling marble stones are used. This creates a type of thermo therapeutic ‘vascular gymnastics’ in the circulatory system to help the body detoxify and heal. The warmer stones dilate the blood vessels, while the cold stones contract them. This has a sedative effect on the nervous system. Stones massage makes you feel deeply relaxed, allowing you to let go of all the stress that is held within your body. It is really an amazing experience to offer to the ones you love!
